After walking among trees for a while, the patterns of leaves and light hypnotize me. Imagine you’re with me at the edge of the woods. We are dazzled by the sunlight, and drawn to the cool shade. We see the dark trunks and the brilliant translucent colors of leaves. I move the camera, pointing it almost into the sun. Later I will bring the photos into the studio and give them the solidity of paint, adding light and removing the unnecessary.
